Concert by the Japanese YAEI high school students

Once again we hosted the instrumental and singing students of the Japanese YAEI High School at the Kodály Zoltán Elementary School in Nyíregyháza.

YAEI Singers were formed by the graduates of YAEI High School Chorus Club in 2007. Their first appearance was in Hakone Student Music Festival, and they received an excellent prize (second prize) and also a special award (KAWAI Award). Some members took part in the Kocsár Competition as YAEI High School Chorus Club before YAEI Singers were formed, and they won the gold prize and a special award. The group also contributes to the local areas by giving performances at nursing homes and collaborating with local chorus groups. Some members from “TAMATOMO”, which participated in this festival two years ago, are also joining the group this year.
This year, the students participated in 4 days of courses with Hungarian instrumental music teachers. The final result was presented to the Nyíregyháza audience in 2 concerts: on 11 October 2024 in the church of the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Hungarians and on 12 October 2024 in the Kodály Hall of the Kodály Zoltán Kodály Primary School in Nyíregyháza.
